The time it takes to develop a base tan depends on your skin type, whether you use a salon quality indoor tanning lotion, and your current skin color. The average person can develop a base tan in 8-10 sessions in regular beds. You can achieve a base tan in just three visits with the P90 Combo. On your first visit we’ll help you determine a schedule to follow, usually starting off with a partial session and gradually adding more time with each visit. Use the P90 Combo and have a base tan in a week.  Otherwise plan on 14-30 calendar days to build a base tan in regular beds.

You should wait a very minimum of 24 hours before your next session. We recommend you follow an every other day tanning schedule when building your base tan with a Step 1 tan accelerating lotion. After you develop your base tan move on to a Step 2 tan maximizing lotion. You can reduce your schedule to once or twice a week depending on the tan you desire. And remember, always use a tan extending Step 3 lotion to extend, protect and preserve the life of your tan.

Tip: Like most fun things in life, moderation is the key. Talk with a tanning professional about tanning, take care of your skin, and take a break every now and then.

Before You Tan

Choose a salon quality lotion to apply right before tanning. You need air, water, food and sunlight to live, but over exposure to UV can cause premature skin aging and wrinkling just like over eating can cause obesity. A high quality tanning lotion and tan extender can help prevent and reduce these effects.  These lotions help you tan faster, moisturize your skin, and many help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. By supplying your skin with needed vitamins, minerals, amino acids and moisture these lotions can help you tan up to 67% better than using no lotion at all. By using lotions you can tan faster in fewer sessions with less UV exposure. It’s well worth the money!

Sunlight can damage your eyes producing burning and possible long-term damage. The skin that makes up your eyelids is very thin, UV can penetrate. Therefore, wear approved eyewear that you can buy in the salon! If you are worried about the “raccoon eye” effect, use a small amount of self-tanner around your eyes to blend your tan.

While You Tan

What do you wear when tanning? Whatever you want! Once you enter your private tanning room it’s your choice. Some people wear their under garments, others bring swimsuits, but most prefer to tan in the buff. (So they say)

Escape in your private thoughts and enjoy the relaxing time.

After You Tan

Moisture is lost from the skin when tanning indoors or outdoors. Use a tan extender after tanning, after bathing or after exercising to preserve, protect and extend the life of your golden brown tan. Tan extenders are available at the salon.

If you can, avoid bathing as long as possible.  Skin moisture and tanning lotion continue to facilitate your tan.  A shower can wash them away.  When you do shower, apply your tan extender immediately after you towel dry.

Vitamin D isn't a supplement or a vitamin - it's a hormone made naturally when your skin is exposed to UVB. No dietary source for "The Sunshine Vitamin" even comes close to vitamin D levels made naturally from the sun or a sunbed.
